WATSON TDM

WATSON TDM

Watson TDM is a modular DSL-access-platform for E1, nX64 and Ethernet, delivering First-Mile services over copper. Based on the G.SHDSL.bis standard , Watson TDM delivers longer reach, higher reliability, higher throughput and multiple interfaces for a very competitive price. Watson TDM enables Telcos, Service Providers and Campus Operators to use one device for a wide variety of services on 1, 2 or 4 copper pairs. Watson TDM’s multi-speed capability allows Carriers to trade rate for range and adapt to the existing copper plant, lowering deployment costs. It is ideal for PRA access, interconnection of LAN and PBX networks, as well as interconnection of mobile base stations and ISP data connections. Watson TDM supports payload rates from 192 kbps to 22.8 Mbps. Deployment range can be extended with the Watson TDM Regenerator.

WATSON ETHERNET

Multiplex Ltd Watson-Ethernet

Watson Ethernet is a family of G.SHDSL modems designed for Ethernet transport. High throughput, high flexibility and advanced functionality make Watson Ethernet the right choice for demanding applications. Watson Ethernetmodems are available as plug-in cards for a 19’’ subrack with 4 DSL pairs per card and as tabletop modems with 1 or 2 DSL pairs. Watson Ethernet delivers symmetrical data rates of up to 5.7Mbit/s per copper pair. Using the built-in pair bonding facility gives service rates of 22.8 Mbit/s per customer. The modems have built-in VLAN and Class of Service functions for traffic management and differentiated  services. The Watson Ethernet plug-in card is designed for rack-based installations. The plug-in has the same form factor as Schmids other Watson modems (Watson 2, 3, 4, 5, Watson TDM) and fits into the same subracks. Watson 2/3/4/5/TDM and Watson Ethernet plug-in coexist in the same subrack – it is possible to deliver Ethernet services from sites that are currently used for E1 services without any change to the installation.

WATSON ETHERNET MULTISERVICE

WATSON ETHERNET MULTISERVICE

Watson Ethernet Multiservice are SHDSL modems compliant to ITU-T G.991.2 [12] and to ETSI TS 101 524 [11] that are designed to simultaneously transport E1 and Ethernet data signals. SHDSL uses pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) with 16 or 32 constellations and Trellis coding. Multiple linerates as well as 1-pair, 2-pair, and 4-pair DSL transmission are supported. Payload rates from 192 kbps to 22.8 Mbps that can be freely split between TDM and Ethernet services.
The Watson Ethernet Multiservice modems are available as plug-in cards and as tabletop units. The plug-in card normally work as Line Termination Units (LTU, STU-C). The card can be configured for remote powering of tabletop modems. The tabletop unit normally operates as Network Termination Units (NTU, STUR). Tabletop modems can either be powered remotely from a plug-in modem or locally with an AC/DC adaptor.SNMP-based remote management of Watson Ethernet Multiservice tabletop modems is possible from the Watson Ethernet Multiservice plug-in modem.
More information about this equipment can be found in the technical Specification of Watson Ethernet Multiservice series.
